Samut Sakhon is small province located on the Gulf of Thailand. It can be reached within 1h30 from Bangkok's Southern Bus Station.

What to see and what to do in Samut Sakhon?

Wichian Chodok Fort. This fort used to guard the entrance of Mae Nam Tha Chin from invaders. Still has a few rusty canons present.

Wat Yai Chom Prasat. A few kilometers west from the town of Samut Sakhon. This temple has a tall Buddha image and nice wooden carvings on its bot.

Wat Chong Lom. This shrine features a fountain, almost 10 meters high in the shape of the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy. Receives quite a few visitors of Chinese origin. Take a ferry to Tha Chalong, from there the temple can be reached in half an hour (or take a motorcycle taxi).
