Platinum Fashion Mall on Petchburi Road, Bangkok

Platinum Fashion Mall is a relatively new shopping mall, located on busy Petchburi Road. It is completely dedicated to fashion wear : fashion clothing for women and for men, children wear, fashion accessories, leather bags and goods, shoes.

There are about 2,000 different shopping outlets, located on 6 shopping floors. On the 6th floor is a big food court, and car parking is available at higher floors. The total area covered is about 110,000 square meters.

The Platinum Fashion Mall is there for wholesale shopping. Most shops are small, approximately 20 square meters, although there are some larger shops. In between the fashion shops, you will also find some coffeeshops and fast food outlets.

What is a bit deplorable is that most of the area is occupied by shops. There is no central area where one can have an overview of the whole shopping mall. Let's just say that the architectural design emphasizes functionality (as many shops as possible), and not artistic qualities.

What is striking of the place is the sheer number of fashion outlets. It clearly indicates that there are quite a number of small Thai entrepreneurs, keen on trying their luck in the Thai fashion industry. Thai fashion, by the way, is nowadays heavily promoted by the Thai government.

To get to Platinum Fashion Mall you need to walk just a bit. In our view, the best way is to get to Ratchathewi skytrain station, and then walk east down Petchburi road, it is just a few hundred meters past Pantip Plaza. You can also walk from the Chitlom skytrain station, but remember to cross the road to the CentralWorld side as soon as you can, otherwise you run into difficulty later on.
