Have
you ever looked for the telephone number of a hotel
here on the web, only to be greeted by page after page
of hotel booking sites that you have to scroll past
to reach the hotel's own web site? If so, you started
in the wrong place, and this week we recommend http://www.thaiwebsites.com,
a web directory with a search function for English-language
or bilingual web sites about Thailand.
This directory contains more than 4,000 web sites in
about 130 sub-categories, with the sites added by editors
or proposed to them by webmasters after being vetted
for content.
Sites that mainly provide hotel bookings are excluded,
although web sites of individual hotels are welcomed.
If you or your organisation has an English-language
web site, then you could increase its potential exposure
by asking that it be listed here. Thaiwebsites' editors
evaluate every web site that is submitted to its directory
and ensure that the listings are up-to-date.
There
is a general directory, a hotels directory, an industry
and manufacturing directory as well as a consumer and
shopping directory, while it also has links to the top
100 most-visited sites.
Another
section to check out is the "featured editor's articles",
which cover topics such as "What's at Skytrain stations,"
"Healthcare in Thailand" and tips on things such as
visas, travel or buying property here.
